We're excited to have a platform where people can share explore guides and tutorials on the best mods and modding for Darkest Dungeon. Most mods and modding add content to the game to alter gameplay, change the creative feel, or give the player more options in how they interact with the Darkest Dungeon world. It will soon be seen how some mods/modding may be bigger expansions, or if others simply add more settings and options to optimize speed, graphics, or gameplay of the game.Ideally, the creator of a mod updates the mod whenever the game updates - bringing more content, bug fixes, or optimizations. Otherwise, the mod may not work with a newer version.Types of mods New Class Mods By far the most popular type of mod. New class mods are mods adding to the game non-vanilla playable characters recruitable from the Stage Coach or town events.

If you encounter a problem while using mods and want to report it, first remove all of your mods to see if the problem still happens, as in the future some of the mods might conflict with each other. If the problem continues to happen, please notify the developer of the mod. Otherwise, try to reproduce the problem with the fewest possible number of mods, and then report the problem to the author of those mods.See also.

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to Darkest Dungeon. I got to the point where I had level 6 heroes but I haven't taken on the Darkest Dungeon (location) yet. I've experienced the Color of Madness and the Crimson Blood DLCs and I love them both.
Anyway, back on the main topic: mods. I noticed that I kept forgetting to use trinkets in dungeons and I was curious if there was a mod for that, such as a warning or opening the trinket menu before I finally embark. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything like that, but I'm curious what mods you guys use so I could check them out myself. They can be additional content mods, game-play changing mods, or convenience mods.
I'm mostly looking for convenience mods but I'll still check out other mods!TL;DR: What mods do you vestigial, useless souls use?. There's an in-game option that warns you if your party is not equipped with trinkets.
However it only triggers for Veteran (Level 3) and Champion (Level 5) dungeons. To enable it: Load your save file Options Gameplay Quest WarningsIf you want to make it so that the warning also happens for Apprentice (Level 1) dungeons, you can easily mod it yourself by changing a single number in a text file.Go to: C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonDarkestDungeonsharedOpen: 'rules.json' using NotepadFind: 'trinketsequippedwarningdungeonmindifficulty': 3Change 3 to 1, then SavePoof. Your a modder now.As for the kind of mods I use, it's mostly cosmetic stuff like skins, extra backgrounds, new textures, etc. I like the base game well enough and I'm not looking to change much in terms balance. If you want a gameplay overhaul, Pitch Black Dungeon seems to be a lot of people's favorite.
It's hard as fuck, tho.
